Well I decided to bite the bullet and build a reef setup after 20 years since I left my last one in a different state.

All water parameters are doing good. Only issue I am having is temp (82 degrees Fahrenheit) and my salinity keeps going up due to evaporation. Water changes help. Need to add an ATO. Just haven’t decided on what brand.

Very nice! Do you use that fireplace? Could be the cause of the high temps.

Fireplace hast been used in years and it’s not dependent for heat. It’s just for looks and I am super lazy when it comes to maintenance (ash). My biggest concern is that I have A very loud music/theater system that will shake/vibrate the house to include the live stock in that tank.

I forgot to mention

I forgot to mention that my temps significantly reduced to the point where I don’t necessarily have to worry about it and if if gets to low, a simple activation of the built in sump reactors, which the separate pump activates and produces acceptable temps. I attribute the record high temps we had here during the summer and the lack of air movement (fan) in an in closed cabinet where the sump is.
future changes will include a better media reactor pump that produces less heat so I can run it when I want and not use it as a temperature control for my system “another apex cor 15 will fit the bill“. I have run three separate lines to the basement/laundry room where my mixing station/9 stage RODI unit is located. This will allow me to dictate what temperature I want to send to the sump for the ATO and AWC. My goal here is just to have my sump heater do it’s job and not be dependent on pumps/fans/removing doors or not having RODI water without the correct temp. Also, I have been playing with the idea of the Triton method which is why I have to get this temp situation under control.

I would be a lil concerned about the noise...will stress the critters out.

I agree.
I have a dolby atmos setup (16 speakers). I think the 12” powered subwoofers would be the biggest concern as it shakes the house even when playing a moderate noise level. Right now my focus is the reef system for entertainment, for my self and guests.
