Hi and welcome I live in New York State what part do you live in.

40 is a nice size. If I had the proper space that would be my preferred minimum. Enjoy the new tank.
By the way, what light system have you decided on ? There are several in the 75-150 watt range that would work without breaking the bank depending on types of coral you want to try growing.
