Nice to meet you. The first thing you will want to do is not go to crazy with getting the best equipment until you are sure you are serious about......oops. Too late :D Tank looks great.

Get a build thread under member tanks going so we can follow your progress on this awesome build

Welcome to R2R! I think you’re gonna have to school some of us in tank builds and prep. You came prepared for this community:). Can’t wait to see what you put in the tank!

Hello everyone!
My name is Jay, and I am new to reefing, started in October with a Red Sea Nano Max and now just upgraded this past weekend to the XL425. Been planning to since January and finally did last week. Took 2.5 solid days with my Bro in law who’s been a Reefer for years, he has me hooked. Attached are a couple pics from when we started on Thursday, been up and running for a few days. Didn’t realize how involved, complicated and costly this hobby is but I’m loving it! So far the number one thing I’ve learned so far is you must have patience which I have none haha but good things come to those who wait. Happy to be on the forum and looking forward to seeing everyone’s tanks as well as my own grow. Cheers!

Welcome to R2R and reefing Jay. Tank looks great. Lots of knowledgable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed. Yes, slow is the way in this hobby.

Thanks man! Yea this took a ton of prep. That was the key, I waited until I had everything down to plumbing fittings knowing it was gonna take a while to put together. I wound up running a dedicated 29A circuit from my electric panel to my tank wall to make sure I had enough power down the road. Flew my Bro in Law down from NY (I’m in FLA now) and we took almost 3 days from start to finish. Took a while to get everything but he told me that you wanna go with really good equipment otherwise eventually it’s gonna go down and you’ll end up paying for it anyway. Good advice, thanks for checking it out!
