I just upgraded my 4 stage RO/DI to a 6 stage. The first cannister which houses the micron filter has a very slight leak from the top of the cannister. It’s brand new so the O-ring is fine. Tried a little bit of silicone lubricant on the o-ring and still a small amount of water is getting through.
Can I try putting some plumbers tape around where the cannister screws in? It seems plenty tight and I don’t want to overvtighten it. Any other suggestions?

I had this happen and it just wasn't tight enough because the filter wasn't seated properly. Have you check that first?

The trick is light sanding on top rim of clear canister. This will let the o ring seal better with more pressure.

if the top is bottoming out that is

Next is too look for any casting marks or lines where o ring sits, these always leak on bulkheads
