New skimmer pump acting weird

Bought a replacement pump for my Reefer 900 skimmer as the last one was going bad,
They sent me a replacement that cranks out 860 gallons per hour versus the original one that did 317 gallons. Short story is it seems I have to raise the water level in the refugium a few inches more than what the recommended height was to promote skimmate. Should I send it back?

Got back with BRS and they checked and it actually was a step down from the original pump, the rating was misleading and they are swapping it for the correct pump which is the PSK 1200 for the Reefer 900 and not the 1000
