Hello, I am looking for options. I currently have a Reef Octopus 110 classic protein skimmer in my Reefer 250 (old style sump w/o refugium) . It’s working great and is pulling dark skimmate. However, I’ve been looking at upgrading it to the RSK 300. Besides the obvious upgrade at the neck cleaner and more of a compact design the RSK 300 provides. Will there be any additional benefits to upgrade or should I just save my money since my current skimmer works fine? TIA

I’d personally keep your old skimmer if there’s no reason to replace it. If your reef octo is keeping your parameters in check and if you don’t need the extra space in your sump I would personally not get it. It’s up to you though. Just my .02

That’s what I’m figuring too. I’m sitting at about 5-10 ppm nitrate and undetectable Phosphate. Just wondering if there will be any other benefit. I hate the large pump that’s hooked up to the skimmer body but it works.
