Hi guys,

New tank started 7 weeks ago and I’m in the ugly phase for sure! I know it will eventually die off but I’m getting a few patches of what looks like hair algae. Is this just part of the ugly phase or should I be concerned?

Tank 120L AIO

Nitrate is stable at around 5.0 Phosphates 0.02 20l water changes every week.

Just added 5 snails, Turbo and Astrea but maybe I should add a few more? Any recommendations for more CUC

White lights only on for photo, I run blues mostly and lights on from around 12 till 9pm

definitely standard new tank algae, nothing concerning. As far as additional CuC, I'd add some small hermits and trochus snails, both of these will help mow down algae. I got this photo from my frag tank yesterday showing the great work trochus snails do:

I would also recommend some margarita snails. Those guys are hungry and thorough. Relatively cheap too
