Hello Everyone,

My new tank is done cycling and I have a quarantine tank ready to go. I have a list of fish I'll be stocking with and will be adding them slowly. I know it's the best practice to add the more shy fish first so they can gain territory. My stocking list is below but I'm just wondering which fish is first.

Thanks!

2 Picasso Clownfish
1 Bangaii Cardinal
1 Sunburst Anthias
1 Royal Gramma
1 Flame Hawkfish
1 Yellow Tang

I HAVE NEVER HAD A HAWKFISH SO I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THEM, BUT THE REST I HAVE HAD & I WOULD GO CLOWNFISH THEY GET ALONG WITH EVERYTHING,SUNBURST TRY TO GET ALL SAME
SIZE FISH IF YOU CAN. GRAMMA THEY HAVE A LOT OF CHARACTER,THE TANG & THE CARDINAL YOU WILL HAVE TO WATCH, THEY WILL PICK TERRITORY AND THEY WILL GET BIG FAST. GOOD LIST

Why are you yelling?

Always add the least aggressive first and then add the most aggressive last.
good idea. More agressive fish will claim territory and not play well when new fish that are less aggressive are added

What size tank will this be?

I picked up a Bangaii Cardinal yesterday and he's in QT. He was very inexpensive and small at my LFS so I couldn't resist. He's already eating which is a very good sign. So here is the order I'm thinking:

Bangaii Cardinal
Royal Gramma
2 Clowns
Sunburst Anthias
Pink Spotted Goby (just added to the list so he can help keep the sand bed turned over)
Flame Hawkfish (might be changing my mind - I read they may go after shrimp)
Yellow Tang

And by the way, my tank is a 70 gallon shallow tank that is four feet long and two feet wide.

Not a bad idea. I just didn't know if the tank was too shallow to house one.

I would recommend getting the sunburst anthias before the gramma. Grammas are peaceful, but will defend their cave of choice. A sunburst won't defend a territory from any of the other fish on your list.

Nope the goby is fine in any size tank. That and/or a cleaner shrimp should be good. I would stay away from the cleaner wrasses for now. They need a lot of large fish to eat off of or someone who knows how to teach them to eat frozen.

Darn, I actually went out last night and purchased a VERY small Royal Gramma. He's in QT right now.

Im curious which 1 of your fish is the most aggressive?

I would say the Yellow Tang out of that list would be the most aggressive.
