Hey guys, second go around with this hobby, still pretty fresh in it. So, my tank is 6 weeks cycled, first 5 weeks was ghost fed with a shrimp, lights off. Last week I added first few fish to the tank. Well, now, I’m pretty sure I’m starting the “ugly” stages. Is this diagoms or Dino’s? Also, what else should I expect with a barebottom tank?

parameters are:
Nitrite/ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 30
Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 77°
Calcium: 440
Phosphate: 0.03 (RO/DI water)

Looks like some green film algae on the glass. It's expected to have some diatoms at this time as well... Id be surprised if it were dinos at such an early stage. Diatoms should blow off the rocks easily with a Turkey baster.

Form or function: Do you consider your rock work to be art or the platform for your coral?
