honestly though, I'm one of those hobbyist that enjoy the equipment and tanks just as much as the fish, corals and other livestock. So its a win-win for me (or as non-reefers see it, a problem haha)
Im the exact same way. I love the tech and the gadgets. But yes it is for sure a problem because of the price. Go big or go home right?

What part of the PNW are you from. I spent some time at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, WA. If you are close to Seattle, WA you should check Seattle Corals!
Im in lynnwood. The best ones ive been to (my criteria is basically cleanliness, selection, and customer service) are on the eastside (bellevue and renton) i got a majority of my corals from seattle corals the guy who runs it is pretty awesome. Most times a trip to the LFS or NSLFS (not so local fish store) is a secret mission haha better to ask for forgiveness than permission right?

Hahahahaha ohh noooo!!!!!! That really sucks. Sorry to hear that. Thanks for the tip. I dont think i could bring myself to spend 800 on a frag and if it melted away id cry myself to sleep too many nights. Lots of boogers and tears on that pillow case. Lol

If thats what i gotta do to get a dragonette i will do it. Man i was eyeballing the neptune dos but everythings adding up pretty quick lol. Is it worth the price? Is it that much better than a regular doser? Ive watched videos and read some stuff on it but ive never got to ask their opinion it it. Thanks for the reply!
Using my dos strictly for water changes right now. Saves so much time and shows me to enjoy my tank more. Currently looking to add another for 2 part with a trident.

Hello my name is chuck and I’m addicted to reefing!

Update. Been busy with life so setting this up took a back seat but making progress. Got the tank plumbed and trying out some aquascaping. Front and side views. Does it look too bulky? Its just under 13inchs high so there will but about 6 inches of open water above the rocks. I would love some feedback!

Alright heres an update. Since my last post my tank has gone through many transformations. Took out my bubble magus curve and put a comline 9004 skimmer in the section where the water comes down from the over flow. I did this so the main section could be a refugium. My 2nd attempt at a refugium failed. So i scrapped that idea and just got a santa monica algae scrubber. Its about a month in an its working alright. I have a love hate relationship with my aquascape. I made it so there would be layered shelves but its so much rock its a little hard getting my hands in there to work. Especially when my clown is an a hole he attacks me lately when i stick my hands in. Ill save that knowledge for my next tank. I have a neptune dos i will be setting up soon and im in the process of figuring out a cabinet system for everything. Inhabitants are a fire shrimp, a bta(i think its a rainbow?)a pistol shrimp, a black clown with an orange head that wont go in the bta, and a rose goby. misc zoas/palys couple digitatas, trachy, couple montis, acans, misc mushrooms but my fav corals, a gold torch, a beautiful pinkish purple hammer, an og bounce mushroom(i got in an awesome trade) a joker torch and a sunkist bounce. Im missing a bunch but i dont want to bore anyone. Here is some progress pictures i have on my phone. Ill take more and post after i mount the ones on the frag plugs. Some of these pix are older and currently not how it sits. I had everything where i wanted then the bta took a stroll and in a panic i had to move some stuff around to save their souls lol. Thoughts? Complaints? Constructive critism? Ideas? Lmk

Looks wildly beautiful, very well done ;Happy
I love how you spread out the colouring, really draws in one's attention to the different aspects of the tank.

I would add a bunch of tricolour pocillopora (because I love them), perhaps some zoanthus sociatus (aka. I love them) and a well coloured tubipora musica in the back (I have a thing with them growing up from behind rocks).

But you should totally keep on doing what you do, it is obviously turning out great!

Idk if you want the clown to move to the bta, it looks so serene the way it is now. The bta seem to be very out in the open in regards to clownfish living in it, if you can shield the bta somehow so there is more slow current around it, the clown might like it better. They seem to love having a slow flow area where they can be lazy but really close to a fast flow area, that they can jump into for fun. Otherwise it can also work to get a clown that is already used to anemones & let it teach the other clown.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, it is a wonderful tank.

Thanks for the kind words guys! @Birdbrains? Im a big fan of pocillopora too im just waiting for the perfect one to pop up. Ill definitely look up tubipora i been trying to think of something to grow up behind the rocks like you were saying. Theres a good amount of zoas in there i dont think the pictures showcase them very well. Theres some blue eyed blondes 2 kinds of rastas some mary janes one cb bowser one citrus cooler a magician some gobstoppers some rainbow hornets a cluster of nirvanas and some misc bright green ones. Ill def take some more pix soon to show em. Im not terribly upset about the clown. I think i just want that iconic look with a clown and the nem. I like the idea of introducing a clown that is used to a nem and have him teach this one. More pix comming! Thank you!

This puppy has been sitting in the garage since about December 2019 along with a few other goodies. The time has finally come where its needed. I bought this during the BRS black friday sale with a $500 BRS gift certificate i won in the R2R partner member raffle thing. So free with a discount. I love this forum and @Bulkreefsupply
