Hey yall setting up my tank and curious if I should put pad or thin mat or something below the tank rather then directly on the stand. I’m also hesitant because I don’t want water to get on the mat and it get mold or weird under the tank. I know with weight distribution plywood would only make sense beneath the legs of the stand but would love any thoughts!

Thank you in advance

If you have a standard tank (like an Aqueon or Marineland) with the plastic frame around he bottom, you don't need any mat or anything, and nothing should be touching the underside of the bottom glass. The frame supports the glass. Make sure your stand fully supports that plastic frame.

If you have a frameless tank it more than likely both needs a mat, and came with a mat, but there are mats you can buy if your tank didn't come with one.
