New tank on the way - what return pump?

Hi all. We are moving soon, and I'm buying a new tank to make the move easier. I ordered the IM EXT 75g to replace my 65g acrylic custom tank. I plan to set up the new tank and then transfer the livestock over, then tear down and sell the old one. The IM tank comes with a Might Jet XL return pump. I have a nano tank with a MJ pump and it seems like a great pump. I currently run a Sicce SDC Syncra 3.0 pump (I originally bought the 6.0, but it was too tight a fit in my sump) and if I were to purchase a pump for the new tank, I'd get the Sicce SDC 6.0.

Thoughts on the 6.0 vs. the MJ? The smart move would be to not spend more money...but I've spent so much in this move, I probably wouldn't even notice at this point. Or, is the 3.0 enough for a 75g mixed reef? I also run two Nero 5's, but those are turned down a lot (the Nero 3 would have been plenty, but the magnet wasn't strong enough). Maybe I should buy another 3.0 and keep the old one as a backup when I tear my tank down?

I'd be inclined to use the pump that comes with the tank.

Check out the reefbreeders nautilus pumps too. Affordable, compact, DC controllable and run silent. I have one on my DIY frag tank and I like it more than the more expensive reef octopus pump I have on my main display.

Unless you want the additional control features. I'd stick with the MJ pump. The max flow is also much bigger. 2650 vs 1450.

I do use some of the different wave patterns, but that's likely just more 'having fun' than really serving much of a purpose LOL

Yea my return pump has the same thing. I just don't like water level fluctuations. So I find the function pointless.

I'm a fan of the jebao dcp pumps. I have a 3500, 5000, and 15000 currently in use. They are silent and affordable enough I have a spare for each one. No wifi but they have a controller with a feed button and that is all I need.

Ecotech Vectra s2 x2 dead silent, no issues going on 3 years.

the 3.0 might be too small for a 75 mixed reef. How many bends do you have from your pump to the tank? If no bends, it might be ok but I would go with the 6.0 and keep it at like 60% so you arent running it too hot. Then you have the ancillary benefit of having more flow in the tank with the larger pump.

My Jebao made less noise than my 6.0. I only got the 6.0 because it was an option on the tank and I wanted something that I knew would be compatible
