I have a new 125 gal. My fish and rock are in the tank. Can I add the sand with the fish in the tank? I've never added sand this way I figured i would ask?

I had to had some more sand. I cleaned it till it ran dry then used a small bowl, slowly lowered it into the tank (turn of your ATO and wave makers) then got it in the place I wanted it and then slowly turned it over and lifted the bowl out slowly. I then used a wooden spatula to rake the sand.

I have a 43g cube and added 2lbs of sand, it took about 20 mins.

No idea how long it would take to add it to a 125g tank but I would assume you can do it. Just user a bigger container.

I was amazed, the sand hardly clouded up much at all.
