I just got a used acrylic tank. What’s the best and safest way to clean acrylic?

Going to want to sand and buff. I just did a 240 and went down to 800 grit, then 1000, then 2000. All with a DA sander. Then I used novus buffing cream, available on Amazon, with a high speed buffer.

It takes some work but looks awesome when done.

Well first I’d say a good long bath of vinegar & water. Then once all the crud is off you can evaluate how much scratch removal and polishing is needed.

Yes! After sanding start with 3, then go to 2. For a final luster and hand wiping with 1 which is a spray rather then a cream.

Thanks! Going to start refinishing a 650! Will need power tools for sure!
