I'm trying to make my smaller 15 gallon tank easy to use. I just invested in the ATO+ from Red Sea and there nano reef mat. The tank came with a AI Blade, now that these seem smart/ high tech. my wavemaker is a basic ugly one that seems to stick out too much. im thinking about swapping it out for the AI Orbit 2 and matching the return pump with there Axis 20. what do you guys think? am i going overboard with it? i was trying to match all the brands to keep them together in one app, but the ATO+ system seemed like the best option for someone who travels occasionally and works odd hours. the rest of the system i want to upgrade because some of it looks ugly and the simple return pump seems loud. im also new to the reef tank world so i dont know too much. but i understand you want to slow the flow of the water during feeding. this pump is just on and off. let me know what you guys think. are there better options? do people like the ATO+, should i be sticking to all one brand?

Some people turn off the flow for feeding, some don't, its up to you, its not that one way is better than the other. I don't turn my flow off.

If you do turn your flow off, turn the powerheads off, but leave the return alone, you shouldn't turn the return pump on and off.

ohh! ok. I'm noticing in my tank that my flow from my power head is not really stirring up the leftover food on the bottom. i also dont have anything in my tank . i just finished my cycle so i want to make sure everything is ready and i dont stress any fish or crabs out. trying to start this tank off right and not harm anything in the process

On my 15 I ran a jebao ow-10 for 5 months. I just ordered a Tunze 6040. Both have controllers but the Tunze is smaller.
I broke the 10 when cleaning it.
I run both so the pump comes on fo 10 seconds then off for 10 seconds.
This works well in a small system.
The Jebaw ow-10 is a great pump with controller for the money

I leave the return on when feeding. I use floss and carbon.

I prefer the new Tunze ato as I run them on all 4 systems.

The Blade should work well. Lfs has the same 15 I have setup with the blade. Very nice looking light.

My 6 month old 15 today.
