New to Phosphate E

Ive been using Phosphate E for a few months with great success. However Ive been dosing it into my filter sock and then changing my sock a few hours later. Is this necessary or can I leave the sock in for a few days?

If the sock doesn’t impeach water going through then yes keep it in it until it fills up . The longer it’s in your water the better it collects pho’s . I usually change out the filter once a week unless it fills up and doesn’t allow water to go thru
