welcome aboard the r2r board!

you can start by getting some nice coral "lenses" for either your phone or camera. you can look up some videos on YT regarding how to properly take pictures or videos of your tank.

also, there is a photography sub-forum here on R2R where i'm sure you will find some invaluable information!

Thanks for the advice I’m searching that forum as we speak. I want to set up a live cam so I can see my tank whenever I want in good quality. I know I’ll need to add a filter but seems like webcam/security cams do not have premade options

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!!

What kind of phone do plan on using to take pictures and video?
Not a phone I want to set up a live cam, security, webcam but with actually good picture quality. The days of 1080 being good have to end haha I wanna see it in 2k,4k. Filters can be added to deal with the blue. But I need that resolution to come also

the most popular used on R2R is the Wyze camera for cost and picture quality

That’s what I have and it’s a no go for picture quality I’m looking for. Im ok with paying $150+ for the right camera, Wyze is great but $30 camera can only be so good. And even the new V3 pro is 2k and from reviews and pictures it’s not great.

I found one good thread about placing it directly on the glass with a custom mount but my setup is about 10 feet away on an opposite wall.

My new test will be with the Wyze OG 3x and seee if that set zoom will help with the location.
