hello there so i got some frags some a super helpful local and am hoping i'm on the right track here... been in the hobby for about a year now. prob not enough to start SPS but i built a really nice LED system and am determined lol. .... its day 3 now and my phosphates are at 0.32 so I'm really trying to lower them at the moment. I'm not too sure on all the names but i have a green birds nest and a purple stylo. REALLLLLLLY hoping to keep them all alive... I got some kalkwasser mix to hopefully get them looking better for me....time will tell..... I'm running a remora aquaC skimmer and i'm not too sure i like it yet, i was running a coralife super 60 and it seemed to pull more junk out? might switch back soon.... Ive got 2 power heads which aren't very large.

I did not know that a 6line was supposed to eat aptasia. I have had several and still have to hand kill aptasia.(joes juice).

good luck w/sps.

Give your Skimmer a couple of weeks and the skim will get progressively darker. Also the only thing that will eat aptasia are bergiah nudibranch and I believe they are called bergiah filefish. Not a 6 line. Although good for flatworms 6 lines are notorious
For being aggressive. Good luck with the sps!

I ran a side by side comparison of a remora pro vs a coralife super skimmer 65 mounted in sump. After week two the remora pro quite skimming all together but the coralife kept pulling half a cup a day. IMO there are better technologies than spray injection: pin wheels, needle wheels, and meshwheels are far superior IMO. This does not mean the aqua c products dont work i just feel there are far better ways of pulling skim than spray injection. Be carefull with the kalkwasser and when first starting I recomend monitoring your ph just to see what effect its having and knowing how much you can safely dose. Also dont try and raise your numbers with kalkwasser or a calcium reactor bad things can happen. If you need to raise use randys recipe its very affordable and you can find online just search randys recipe. I cant get the dowflake here so I use the prestone driveway heat for the calcium part and it works very well for me. Good luck!

Oops my bad about the six line... i def had it wrong... i think the 6 lines eat bristle worms right??.... either way my bad :S Now I'm kinda scared to be using my kalkwasser lol, i have it on a drip system that drips 5 seconds on the dot. I haven't noticed my PH going up as of yet......I still have quite a few things i need to do before i'm semi comfortable with having SPS...but this is my start lol. I'm determined to keep this purple stylophora and green birds nest ALIVE. Also I have a goniopora that i can't seem to get to fully open and extend. I know it's not a SPS but its challenging me either way lol.
