Good afternoon,

I got 2 new torch corals about a week ago one of them is doing awesome the other barely extends. I have a total of 4 torches and all of them are doing well expect the one new one. There all in similar location with par/flow none of them are touching. Im thinking of putting the unhappy one in the sandbed at this point. Strange thing is the day i got it was the happiest ive seen it. The par is around 150ish any suggestions im clueless what to do at this point. Both new ones were dipped.

Close up picture. Not the best flesh band but it came like this. Would moving it to the sand bed be dumb? Par is around 150-170

How long for the 9 days has it been like that?
Was it for the full 9 days or half or less?
The first day it was like 4x the size looked pretty happy. Then after that its been all downhill. Maybe its was getting less par at the store it was shipped from?

Well I don't order coral I usually get from the local and my new torch had a long drive in the bag and was closed but opened right up when I put it in the tank, I ain't a pro either so this is kinda new to me, haven't seen this happen in my friends tank either, you could slightly change the par slowly and see what happens just note the other coral as well

Personally I would move it to a different spot. To me, just because one torch is happy in a spot doesn't mean all torches will be happy in that spot.

Whenever I'm having issues with my torches, I do a KFC dip...

You can just do it without cipro and amox, if you don't have them. You'll want to have a heater and a small pump in there for some water movement.

Sometimes putting them in the sand for a few days (or even a week) helps out. Euphyllia can do just fine with low PAR so you won't hurt it at all
