I just bought this and am trying to figure out where in the sump area to put the float sensor. The directions say in the compartment with the return, but that water level never changes. Help!!!

More than likely you will want to put it on the section that houses your return pump.
If you want to test to see the effect of evaporation,
just remove a gallon or so of water, with a jug or similar container, from your display tank and then watch where the water level in your sump goes down.
Removing the water has the same effect as evaporation just much quicker.

if this what you buy it should come with the pump
Thanks. Yes that's what I got. Initially the pump didn't seem strong enough, but when I shortened the tubing, it worked like a champ!
