New used tank

Hello fellow reefers,
Sorry if I didn’t post in the right section.
I purchased a used Red Sea max nano cube, as it’s my first time getting into saltwater Aquariam.
I went to buyer and showed me the tank and we’ll notice what seemed to be salt in between edges…so I made nothing of it…was kinda in a rush since I had the wife with me waiting in the car with no a/c and it was hot out lol…once I got home took a really close look and notice tht the sand was actually what seemed to be buried in the seals!
So I filled up tank with water and has been filled all day…No leaks what so ever, but I’m being a nerve reck with all this horror stories I’ve read about Red Sea seals busting.
I’ve attached pictures…pls advice of what y’all think!

Hmm... looks mostly like it was scratched by an algae scraper, not because the seams are busting. Larger Red Sea tanks usually have the issues with seams busting. Look carefully at all the seams. Check for signs of the silicone separating from the glass (bubbles, holes, etc.) If you see those, then I wouldn't keep it. Otherwise, I think you'd be okay to fill it.

Most of the horror stories have been from the bigger tanks from what I’ve read on here.

Yours looks like the previous owner just got overzealous with a scraper or scraper magnet. Looks like a really nice tank! Is there an aquarium store in your area? Maybe they can touch up the seams and give you a piece of mind. Maybe?

I did emptied it and inspect it from all angles…and I think all seems good.

Yes this is the 20g.
Yes all have been on big tanks..but seeing that Red Sea is having bad reputation it’s having me nervous.
Yes it’s a good looking tank!! That’s why I’ve been bummed about it about seals possibly starting to get busted.
There’s a few, I will most def try it!
