i just received a Varios2 pump to replace my older pump, but i been sitting here thinking for about an hour why theres no manual, also it comes with a barb fitting that is just plain weird ( im not sure if its broken or if its supposed to look like that, it basically converts into 2 barb fittings here are some pics, i have a redsea170 with the stock green silicone tube, could anyone please guide me? i called bulkreefsupply to see if they could help me out since i place the order with them but they are closed. i will really appreciate if someone could guide me. thank you again.

No problem.

In this case set the unions and two large O rings aside, they will not be used in your case.

Take the properly sized barb fitting, the small O ring, and the threaded nut.
The threaded nut goes onto the tubing, then the barb fitting into the tubing.
Using the small O ring screw that to the top of the Pump. Done.

You should have a intake cage to install as well.

The unions are for hard plumbing so not needed here. The connection with the flange goes into the other threaded attachment with the gasket under the flange. Now for the ???
Insert the smaller piece into the flange end. Will it stay inside if turned upside down? That's my only guess here.
Water flow holds it in place & hopefully it's water tight.

If broken it should show some sign but you may be right more than I am.
Coralvue should have the answer.

Here is what I did and I think it looks cleaner this way. I used a white 1" union instead of the supplied Grey one. One side threaded, one side slip. You'll have to buy 2 unions and piece them together if you go this route. Then a 1" piece of PVC to a 1" slip - threaded reducer to 3/4"/ 3/4" barbed fitting and SS hose clamp

I would get the clear pvc single step cement. No need for the separate cleaner but if you get the 2 part cement get the clear cleaner instead of the purple.
