did you put it on the inside and outside of the parts that slip together with the brush? Thats all you really need, everything extra i usually wipe off with paper towel

Its hard to tell but your water level looks way to low.

Thats not a normal sound.

I would take apart the pump and make sure there is no debris in there.
Just because its new does not mean it was clean and free of dirt.

Chances are it could be more powerful than your old one.
Are your drains open fully?

You may need more water in the system.
Is the tank close to potentially overrunning the drains when the pump is on 5.

I didn't do it because I don't know if that would void the warranty , I contacted bulkreefsupply and they sent me a shipping label, they said they are going to test it to make sure nothing is wrong with it, if everything seems good they are sending it back to me, if not they are giving me a refund, I sent them a video of the pump, I also just noticed this pump, even at the lowest setting it splashes water from the return nozzle.
what do you guys think of this two pump? in case they do find it defective.

I am talking about disassembly that would be routine maintenance.
Pop off the base, twist off the front housing, pop off the impeller plate and impeller, clean it and see if there's a chunk of something in there. Or maybe it was not properly assembled in the first place. The impeller plate may not be aligned right.

Stay with Varios. They are the most reliable in that price range.

I will do it as soon as I get back home, I rather keep it then have to go thru the hassle of returning , waiting and exchanging, all of that. I will let you know if it made a difference!. thank you

just wanted to give an update on this pump. Bulkreefsupply received the pump last Thursday , and they tested it today, they say the pump seems normal to them and they will have another person test it tomorrow.
this is the last part of the chat i just had with them:

do you guys think im being too picky? and asking for too much? i spent my hard earned money like most of us, and bought something because of what the product’s description said. i’m going to wait until tomorrow and see what the final answer is.
