I set up the stand last night and got the tank leveled. I'm just concerned with the shims on feet like this. Could this be a problem when I add my water? I don't want the composite shims to bust. I'm putting it where my old Cadlight was so the carpet is kinda wrecked. I felt like I was running out of threads when I was using only the feet to level.

my cadlight 125 was on carpet with shims for 2 years it was fine but the cadlight didn't have these leveling feet. My other thought was taking all the feet off and leveling like I did the cadlight. I have a feeling these feet are more for flat tile or hard wood?

Oh gotcha,
I have the Red Sea Reefer 750XXL and the feet on those are on vinyl “wood”. I can’t imagine it on carpet. Hopefully someone has a good response for you.

Removing the carpet would IMO create a more level floor to put the stand on.

I'm not sure how much more level and if it would be worthwhile

Exactly, not sure if it's worth it but want to be safe than sorry. It's more work for sure but if it gets the shims out of it probably the best way to go. Surely a ton on here with carpet right and have had this situation right lol.

Thank for the help guys, I decided to cut the carpet and put the feet onto solid ground. I'm not a good DIYer but I think it came out fine for me. I will be putting some molding along the sides to finish it off. The main thing is its level right :). Cant wait to get his up and running.

looks good. I've been eyeing the 130.4 for some time now. Still waiting on wife's green light.

I do have a question about the manifold I want to build, I believe the return line is 1/2 inch on the 130.4. I got the metric to standard union that will thread onto the existing union but that is 3/4 inch. (25mm to 3/4inch union). Lower half from the pump to the bulkhead will be 3/4 and then after the bulkhead will be 1/2in or (25mm I guess) to the return nozzles. My question is will this be a problem? Or should I do my manifold at 1/2 in? All I will be running is the BRS dual reactor.

Were you thinking about doing something like this?
