I just found the par reading for my 75g build with the t5 and 2 xr15's, big difference.

Well I think I'm gonna go back in a Tunze ATO, this XP Aqua Duetto driving me nuts. It squirts in water for 2 seconds and stops and this is happening every 5 to 10 mins I would guess. it's constant. I don't get it.

Sorry you are having issues. I am running a Tunze on my 45g and love it (after I disabled the high water level alarm). I just installed the Neptune ATK on my Waterbox and it has been working flawlessly so far and the pump is very quiet compared to my Tunze.

I hear you. The Frag Farmers Market is in March, the new tank may not be ready for SPS by then but I figure I can stow some frags in my 45g temporarily until it is.

I have a stalled cycle I think, My ammonia dropped really fast but my nitrite hasnt dropped at all. I am using the dr tims method like this. http://www.drtimsaquatics.com/resources/fishless-cycling
I have done this in the past and it worked really fast for me, this time it seem stuck on the nitrite. I have 0 ammonia and about 2-5ppm of nitrite. The direction say dont add anymore ammonia until both levels are at 0.

I watched a Dr. Tim video where he explained that the nitrite eating bacteria take twice as long to grow/reproduce than the ammonia eating bacteria. Not sure if that's what's going on with your tank. I used Fritz turbo, Dr. Tim's and Microbacter two weeks ago and I have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and around 30ppm nitrate after dosing the 2ppm ammonia. I have not tried the 24hr ammonia test yet.

wow looks like you're ready to go! that's sweet! I was hoping I would be by now. I started on the 10th. I was thinking about adding a different kind of bacteria? Would that help kick start it and gets these nitrites down? I have some Microbacter 7.

It wouldn't hurt. It worked for me. I heard that every bacteria in a bottle company uses different bacteria strains.

Cycle update, I emailed Dr tims yesterday as my nitrites are still on hold for some reason. They advised me to do a 33% water change so I did that yesterday. I thought I would give it overnight to settle and test today. Here are my results. Still crazy high nitrites. I dont know why? My ammonia is 0 and my nitrates I would say between 10 & 20.

I did another 30% water change yesterday and still no change what the heck is going on? Can anyone give some advice on what I should do? Should I keep doing Water changes until the nitrites drop?

Still having a problem with cycling, I've never experienced this before. It will take a day to take the ammonia to 0 but it stalls out on the nitrite and just keeps building up to extremely high levels. I've done water changes to bring it down but it never goes to 0. I'm not sure what to try, so I'm gonna give this a go, it better work for the price.

Hope it works for you. I have had good results with it on my last two tanks

Well not much too update on, this cycle has been very boring and long.

I'm in the same boat. 5 weeks in and trying to be patient...lol. At least your rocks are more purple than mine.
