Hey all,

I’m long overdue for a build thread. At the beginning of COVID I decided it was time to rid my living room of the hair algae filled 20 tall (my first reef tank) that had been my “learn it the hard way” and “cheap equipment is the most expensive” reef tank for the last 4 years. I purchased a waterbox 20 cube from marine depot and started building a cabinet for it. Took my time over the next 4 months building the cabinet and creating the scape out of dry Marco rocks. My SO wasn’t too happy as I now had 2 tanks in the living room while I slowly cycled the new WB for 3 more months. So October 2020 was finally moving day where and I rehoused my onyx clown, royal dotty back, and bi color blenny. (All the remaining coral had long since moved to my frag system in the basement, but that’s another thread) My goal with this system is to take things way slow. Stay up on a weekly water change. Stay away from the “weeds” and only put corals I really want in here. And for the love of gosh, severely limited the amount of green! Anyway I tend to get to rambling so I’ll lay it out as it sits today.

EQUIPMENT:
  • Waterbox 20 cube
  • Home built stand with built in canopy
  • AI Prime HD (old one)
  • Ecotech
  • Stock return pump
  • Ink bird with 200w marineland heater
  • Older apex
  • AutoAqua Duetto ATO
