Using current tank to get used to water changes and feeding. Eventually want to use this tank an a quarantine tank. Want to upgrade in the future.

Absolutely. It's part of a new tank cycle. You'll see many colors come and go over the coming months as algaes appear and disappear as the tank matures :)
