I made the LFS hold him for a week to acclimate and start to stabilize before I moved him. I stopped by daily to check on him and made sure he was doing ok and had adequate flow. We put him in one of their more stable takes with better lighting, flow, and more water volume. He had a gaping mouth when he came in but eventually acclimated.

I built this small little system as a secondary fully functional QT/ frag tank. Works great for incoming anemones, frags, snails (I'm a disease freak), or emergencies. I'm hyperoxygenating the water. I also have another smaller mag that was added before this one, but he's not near as colorful. I bought the previous mag because he was healthy and I liked his smaller size. I'll post pics of him when I can. I have a cheap 6 bulb T5 fixture over the tank, but I'm running all ATI and KZ bulbs in it.

Nice natural color too. I picked up a bleached mag once and it only lasted 6 months.

Yeah, they can be tough. My other smaller mag was doing good until I added this big one. Not sure if they are fighting or what. I'm gonna test my water today and maybe put some carbon online.

What's going on with the other mag? Are they touching or just in the same tank? I've got 3 at the moment, and I'm always hesitant to add unless it's doing well at the store prior. I have the ability to Cipro qt, but don't usually do that unless it's obvious that it's unhappy. Great looking XL!

They're both in a 30/g tank so I'm sure there may be some foul chemicals being released. I think they can smell each other. Who knows, might be the water. Gonna test today.

I didn't think allelopathy was as big with mags as with BTA, but hopefully carbon will help out. It's an addiction, these gorgeous nems...

Allelopathy is one of those terms you hear a lot about in the anemone world. I believe in most cases deflation is usually due to water quality/ tank stability.
