I got this zoa colony on the 15th, so almost two weeks that I've had it, now over the past 2-3 days it won't open up hardly at all and it's getting a brownish look to the color. My tank is two months old, cycled with all live rock and I do a 30% wc once a week. Parameters:
Ammonia <0.25, nitrites 0, nitrates 5-10, PH 7.8 (ph has remained at this lvl since start up), Phos 0.1, Alk 9.1, Calcium 420, Mag 1170
These readings were taken yesterday and the only significant changes have been a 0.7 decrease in Alk, a 20ppm increase in Calcium, and a 60ppm increase in Mag. Last water change was the 24th. I have another zoa that is only about two inches away from the colony that is still doing really good. I also moved the colony a few inches to see if a change in lighting or flow would affect it any, if anything it seems unhappier being in less light.
The yellow one is only a couple inches from the colony and was purchased at the same time from the same vendor.
P.S. If anybody can give an ID for them as well I would appreciated it, I was told the colony is Purple Death, but I'm not so sure anymore they don't look quite right, even when they were fully open and colored.
