Hi all I’m new to salt water I’ve had fish tanks in the past but always wanted to do marine so my question is if my salinity is 1.026 can i add more saltwater or ro to top up the tank
Welcome! Always top off with ro water as the salt does not evaporate! Keep testing occasionally though as salt Creep and time can slowly drift that salinity!

Welcome! Glad you joined. As others have already said, its freshwater that evaporates, leaving salt behind which is why RO is used to top off water, else more saltwater with the left behind salt just keeps raising salinity.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread under Forum > Member Aquariums and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)
