I wouldn't presume to know much of anything.. Lol. Would suggest dc comtrollable though. They've really come down in price.

Just to offer an alternative opinion...

I bought a Maxspect gyre, and got rid of it. Hard to clean, limited mounting options, and the whine they make bugged me to no end.

A pair of Rossmont mover's on a Waver controller move more water, and do so without the whining.
