Hello! My husband and I are diving into a saltwater aquarium after years of thought and research. We’ve had a 55 gallon tank sitting around for a bit just trying to find the right time to start. My in-laws graciously built us a beautiful cabinet for the tank, so we decided it was time.
Our dream all along has been to use all local elements and species from Tampa Bay. We’ve gotten started, and we are so excited about this adventure. We both love the ocean and it’s inhabitants of all shapes and sizes.
Glad to have found such a great place to share ideas and see what everyone else is doing! I know we’ll learn a lot along the way.

Welcome. I am excited to see what you come up with.

Welcome! Glad you joined. Be sure you have the right permits for your local Fish and Wildlife Department when sourcing local.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Not a lot of people have the ability to leave a tank sit around while they research and think about a plan. Props to you!
