Hi all
This was my tank!!!
4'x2'x2 ' running with a sump, hma filter cold drip feed and Co 2
Had a major crappy start to the year, co2 dump in tank so lost about 80% of stock, discovered the other week that the rear seal had started to give way, tank now removed 😭

Hi
At the moment I m looking at completely starting again and ordering a new tank, just trying to figure out build design as looking at going coast to coast weir with bean animal method to the sump
I will be posting a question on this as I might be over thinking part of it!

Like I stated, it's a 4'x2'x2' tank wanting to go coast to coast weir across the back of tank with holes drilled for bean animal system, not sure if the pipe work holes have to be offset for primary /secondary /emergency, I m struggling to find any clarification on this at the moment!

Not sure if anyone on here could help or where to post it

I ve attached rough sketch to query!

nope, usually the holes are all at the same level and the height difference comes into play with the pipes on the other side in the collection box.

The weir will be coast to coast type, internal to the tank, pipes will be drilled direct through back of tank and return down to the sump
I m thinking secondary and emergency should be drilled slightly higher, especially as you want water to stay stuck to side wall of secondary pipe!
I could be way off though as I ve newer tried this system!

Start off welcome 🤟

No there is no set spacing between the standpipes... centered on a coast to coast would probably be best. Tank manufacturers can build the coast to coast over flows into a custom tank or you can get a standard tank and retrofit them out of acrylic and drilling holes yourself.
