So has anyone else checked out the newly discovered reef they found off of Queensland? Its crazy to think being the size it is that it hasn't been discovered before. Its literally taller than the Epire State building. I guess with it being a detached reef and Australia not having a dedicated underwater vehicle to explore the waters though could make it hard to find before. Its also the first to be discovered in the past 120 years and estimated 20 million years old at its deepest part. The ocean truly is fascinating, its great as technology advances the fascinating things we are finding below the surface of water that we normally don't see.

I saw the headline about it. Need to go back and read it, hope it's picture heavy!
The one I read wasn't picture heavy but it did have a 2hr exploration video of them collecting samples and everything. I scrolled through the video some, seen some interesting stuff on it.

Sounds cool! Would you happen to have a link to that vid? I’d love to see it.

Here is a link for the video. The first two minutes there's no audio, they lose communication for a few but get it back up and running. The first half is kinda deep so you don't see a bunch of stuff but after an hour they get in shallower water and that's when you start seeing more and more. Main reason I kinda skimmed through the video. You can find plenty of articles though describing more about the dive if you just Google newly discovered reef as well.
