I just installed 3 of these lights (200)s instead of 250 (typo) and I'm not sure what setting i should start with. I have sps and lps. I had it on 100 violet and blue, 10 percent white and 7 for red and green. The are about 8 inches form the water. My new SPS are looking brown but the pollups are open. I turned them down to 90 for the 2 high settings. Unfortunately I don't have a par meter. Zoas are holding their color as well as the hammers and torches. One torch near the top is opening more. I previously had a canopy but i took it off. I'm I frying my coral with these Nicrews? Also I currently have glass lids. In proccess of getting custom net /plastic lid. Please help.

A PAR meter would be best to use to set them up, Violet and blue set to 80% , white at 10% , red and green at 5% should put you at 100 to 125 minimum on the sand. Surface movement and any kind of top (screen) would reduce this . Don't take my word as fact, you need a PAR meter. Take a look at this PAR meter on amazon, This will get you in the numbers you want in the areas of the tank for your coral at $150 PAR meter

Got a par meter and my levels are too low. I raised the lights back up to 100 on blues and violet, 25 on white and 7 on greens and reds. Do I lower or raise the lights to increase par? Lights are 8 inches from surface. I have a mesh and acrylic top on order. Right now I have glass.

Generally if you lower lights you increase PAR..
Keep i mind the "best" height is determined by the tank dimensions and the beam angle of the light.
One "trick" is to set the height so as to not lose spill too much light outside the tank.

With the new 120 degree spread lights the height to keep all of it inside the tank is much lower than the old 90 degree lights.

Say your tank is 24" wide front to back.
The Nicrew w/ 120 lenses should be at a height of about 7" or less.
Wider the tank..higher the light should be.

you should take into account the diameter of the light emitting surface.
The case is 12" but the pucks are about 6" as a rough guess.
That means you really should use 18" as a target spot size.
9"...6"....9" = 24"
So about 5" off the water line to the front face of the light.

Approximately.

You would need to adjust the L/R accordingly.
So about 9" from the farthest left diode center to the left edge of the tank.
Or less.

Of course it all changes by your dimensions...

Thank you. When the lights come on tomorrow I'll lower the lights and measure again.

on the bottom
Turned up the blues and violet to 100 which is max and 25 on whites and 7 on greens and reds. The bottom was lower than 100. Middle was at 120 and that was not at the top. When the lights come up to full spectrum tomorrow, I've already lowered one of the lights. I'll measure again. If that light is within range, I'll lower the other 2 lights to that level. I'll let you know. Thank you for helping.
