I'm about to test these lights out with my AI blades and see what they are all about. Can't wait to see the growth on my acros with the extra pop. I'll post below a pic of my tank but I will be running 3 blade grows and 1 nicrew 200 gen 2 on a 4 ft waterbox for 2 years. I will post pics of before and after coral shots throughout this journey to show growth. I've had great success with the 3 blades but I think the nicrew will take it to another level.

Ur gonna wish u got two....

Well I'm just going to test one out especially with a majority of my acros in the middle and lps and softies on the sides. How do you like them and what do you have yours set on? Im getting a controller with it and trying to think about the best setting. I run my blades on 80% for about 6 hours with ramp up and down so total about 9-10 hours

I have 2 gen1 150s they have 3pucks, I also run 2 Orphek or4 blue+. I love mine!! I don't run any whites and blues at 60. My or4's peak at 80. I love the controller.

Awesome so I'll start around 50% probably. Have you checked par on them?

Got the lights in and they are pretty cool. They remind me of radions but the pucks are different. The controller was really easy to set the lights up. I know everyone has stated the fan is loud but I really can't hear it. Has anyone checked the par on these lights? Had to take one mf my blades of so I could sit the nicrew in between.

Yup and now ur thinking of getting another... Par readings would be nice too tho... How long r ur blades? And r u selling any by chance?

Ive got one 30 inch which I put on my 40 breeder frag and I kept the two 39 inch ones on display with the nicrew. YES I need another one now lol. I love my blades but I think I will love having this hyperreef with them even better. Has great spread and corals really pop.

Beautiful, post a pic when lights come on!!

Made a prototype shade for mine yesterday. I’ll probably be making changes including flavoring the bottom out a bit. I also put in the 90* lenses and it made a big difference.

I’ll be getting 2 more I’m pretty happy with it.

The shades r a great addition! I like mine a lot. Do u have a link for the 90° lenses??

Not only do they bring in the spread so you can put multiples closer, but the lenses were actually clear not opaque like the 120s they come with. Found that interesting.

I don’t have a shade yet. Going to try them out a bit and see if I really them. If I do I’ll probably get another then get a shade. Trying to figure out a way to mount my blade at an angle on my other blade. Kind of like a shade but a light instead coming at an angle.

My view sitting in the recliner looking up a bit at the tank had me very distracted by the light you can see from the edge. I wouldn't say blinding but definitely needed to be addressed for max enjoyment.

They sell them (not Nicrew) on etsy and a couple other places but at $50 plus shipping for one I cheaped out and designed my own. I can do a lot of good elsewhere with $150. I'm already in BOAT mode. bust out another thousand 😅

Using a blade as a shade should get you a special badge if you pull it off. If you have a printer happy to share the final file once I get it perfect if you decide you need one.

I don't have a printer but always liked how people can make all different types of things with them. I'm going to reach out to some and see if they can do it. I think if it's just like a shade clip but instead hav a blade there. So then I can go ........39 inch blade---Nicrew 200---39 in blade---angled 30 in blade. (back to front)

I'm not OP but I have 3 Nicrew 200 over a 180 gallon, 6X2X2, tank with no supplemental lights. They are spread evenly. My lights are about 13" above the water's surface. My par ratings are below, from my mid-day settings. This picture was day 2 of having them over the tank. I can get a recent photo in a bit.

A side note on the Nicrew is they are built well.

Why do I say that? My house was struck by lightning two months ago. Major damage! A tree was hit, the bolt arced down to the roof, a hole was blown in the roof, outlets destroyed, routers, UPS, TVs, ATOs, weather station, coffee maker, cell chargers, lights, etc. all fried.... You name it.

(I still don't have a functional oven because insurance is a joke....)

What survived? All of the Nicrew lights, their adapters, controllers made it. I have four over 2 tanks and zero losses. So, I'm liking these lights. ATO and UV lights and wavemakers were on the same circuit as these lights. They were toast! These Nicrew lights and my Sicce pumps made it. All the other stuff on the tanks had to be replaced.

My only gripes with Nicrew overall are the controller should have been a phone app, not an add-on purchase, and the fans are loud. Having said that, the lights work, it are well made and durable, so I'm ok with them as-is. I'd buy them again.

Holy crap man that’s nuts! Hope everyone was ok. That’s awesome about the lights though. I also run a siccee return and it has been awesome. What is your mid day intensity on the channels?
