Which hyper reef Gen 2

Hello all, thanks in advance for any and all advice.

I have a 36 gallon fluval flex which is currently running 2 fluval strip lights. I am going to upgrade to 2 of the Nicrew Hyper Reef Gen 2 lights, and can’t decide between the 100 or 150? I want acceptable lighting for a mixed reef with mainly softies and LPS.but want the option to have SPS as my skills increase. My initial thought is to go with the 150s and turn them down. Hopefully this will allow them to last longer due to decreased heat, etc. but on the other hand $100 is $100! and going with the 100s basically gets me the controller for the same price (less actually) then the 150s.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you

I ran a single 200W Nicrew Gen 2 over a 40 breeder and it was turned way down. IMO 2 100 W units should be fine from a power standpoint, and you will still be able to run them below max power and get your controller. You will likely get better coverage/spread than my single 200W did.

The controller is a 'must have' for these lights IMO. It makes them so much more useable. Having a sunrise/sunset ramp up and down is visually appealing.

I cannot say with 100% certainty if there are spectrum and LED color mix differences between the various wattages, or if they maintain the same mix across their range. You may want to look at that aspect if it matters to you.

Not advice,just something to add to the confusion..
There is the Navareef series.

I'm confused as to why they even have it but.. I'm not Nicrew.
Anyways, if you want to save money yet have sufficient wattage which really isn't tht hard w a 32 gal tank 15" deep tank.

Apparently the navi series is a different spectrum, 90 degree vs 120 degree lenses but double check.
Note there is a 135w that is considerably cheaper than the 150 gen 2.

I was bored and procrastinating my water changes....

Had to compare the 100 to the 200. Slight differences but, looks close to a 2X on most channels except a boost on the warm white and UV.

I'm going to update my prior and recommend 2X 100 Gen2 for you.

BTW: I'm running 4X of the 200's over my 180 and am pretty happy with them. Play around with running them laterally or horizontally across the front of your tank. (II vs -- layout.)

There is also the navareef line . I am using 4 of them over my 150 and get great par numbers even in the sand
