I just hooked up 2 navareef 135s that I'll have over a frag tank. I bought the controller. After I program the light and unplug the controller, the light changes to whatever the last hard button program was. Is this normal? Does the remote need to stay connected all the time? If so, I'm having trouble daisy chaining. Do I need a specific Nicrew USB cord? The one I'm using that I had around the house isn't working. And last... Does anyone k own what the 7 presets are that you scroll through with the hard button?

Thanks.

I know that you have to keep the controller connected for the lights to run your custom schedule. As for daisy chaining them together, I bet you just have some of the USB cords in the wrong place. You shouldn't need specific Nicrew USB cords for these lights. I used basic ones off of Amazon for my Hyperreef lights. I'm not sure what the 7 presets are as I have never used those so I can't provide any information there.

I grabbed a different USB. Seems to work. If this was my display tank, I'd never use these lights. Too many wires.

It should just be a couple USB cables at most, no? Their tank mounts also hide them very well in my opinion...

Not quite as clean as I'd like it.

OK for a basement frag tank. I'll stick with my kessil ap9x's for the display.

All good brother! Just giving you a hard time. There are certainly more wires going to each Nicrew light than the kessils

Ive been thinking about trying the Nicrews. Swap out my 72" current's(supplements to the t5's). Cable management is always a concern for me...gotta look nice

Can you get the navareef to go fairly white? I'd like to run 2 navareef instead of a single hyperreef for spread purposes but reading about them they seem to be fairly blue

I dropped my controller in the water. Can't even schedule time without it. Ordered a new one. I'll never buy Nicrew again unless they add wifi/Bluetooth.
But to answer the question.. With the controller, what happens if you boost white and drop the others?

I’ve been setting the timer through the light itself. It works fine, until you change the brightness or anything during your programmed time. Then it basically resets itself. Then I’m basically stuck waiting for the next weekend when I’m off work to get the correct time I want the timer to be on. I haven’t bought the controller yet. Been thinking about it lol

I've been running a hyperreef gen 2 for 2 weeks now with controller. Def just buy the controller. The cord is long enough to not have it near the tank. And if not it's just a USB c. Buy a longer one.

I love that it dosen't need Bluetooth or wifi to set.
