So two questions about Niger triggers. One my tank is 160 gallons but it is a corner pentagon. So tip to tip it is 50 inches. Is this big enough. Two are they truly reef safe or is it a crap shoot.

While they are a very cool fish. I wouldn't suggest getting one unless you really plan on getting a larger/longer tank. They grow pretty fast and as for reef safe I have not seen one that doesn't at least nibble.

I agree with @broskie, he needs the length to cruise and they are one that will to get their true max size, even in captivity.

In the industry for an average XXL- ive seen them at 7" and a 4' run should be ok as long as there isn't a massive amount of rock. Be prepared to upgrade tank size if it unhappy with available room in tank

Thank you all for the input. I don’t see a larger tank in my future so I think I am going to have to pass. I would not want to put the fish through a rehoming just because I didn’t have the right setup. I am looking for some kind of larger fish that would work with my dimensions.
