Happy Saturday all! Something seems to be nipping at my Cardinal’s fins; I believe it’s the Azure Damsels because I see them chasing the Cardinals, but have never actually seen any nipping. This is also a recent development. Could the Damsel’s be culprit or do you think something else?

I was talking with Azure Damsels to a lfs guy and he said that they are not good tankmates of docile fish. They get worse with time (damsels) ime.

I was at my LFS this morning and they said the same thing. The Damsel’s used to be nice, but they said as they age they become jerks.

So I’ve been closely monitoring my tank thinking the damsels were the ones nipping at the cardinal’s fins. Well turns out it was the long nose hawkfish. One cardinal is down to absolutely no tail fin and one of the others is close behind. Everything I’ve read says this shouldn’t happen with the hawk fish. Have any of you had this issue?
