Hey all, im pretty new here and still figuring stuff out. I have a long wristed hermit crab and two snails, the hermit crab i feed sinking fish pellets, the snails graze on the film and hair algae in the tank. Though, occasionally ill give my crab a little turkey meat as a treat. I gave some to him yesterday night (after not giving him any for at least two months), and today i tested the water and saw the nitrates/nitrites are up. I also had put an algae round in for the snails two days ago, as there wasnt a whole lot of algae to feed on. Is it possible decaying food/unordinary food caused the nitrates to rise? All critters are behaving normally despite the parameter change.
