So I had 3 females (2 nice orange and 1 was off color -had another thread on that). All in QT and eating well. Added a male and then noticed what I thought was some missing flesh on the dorsal and tail fins on one of the larger females. The male only ate the first day and passed away 2 days ago. Now that large female is about to pass as well. Tank is dosed with CP and just did 2nd Genarel Cure last night as was worried maybe parasites played a role. Nothing else visible other then suspect wounds. This large female stopped eating 2 days ago.
Not home so no photos, but any thoughts?
So upsetting!

It sounds like you are getting fish with infections. Are they all coming from the same source? Some bacterial infections (especially gram negative) are highly transmissible and can kill faster than velvet. They are also difficult to treat because antibiotics are typically slow acting in fish.

Sorry to hear about all the troubles you are having. :(

So the male was from a different LFS that the females are from. My concern is the 2 remaining lyretail females and yellow watchman goby in that tank. Continue the CP and closely monitor? Do I had another female or male to complete the trio?
I am confused a bit as to the best course of action. My 2nd QT tank is doing great and I don't want to mix the 2 just incase.

Do any of the remaining fish have these wounds you mentioned in your OP? Also, if another fish dies drop the body in FW (tap is fine) to check for flukes.

The one swimming looks weak and both are breathing hard. But I don't see wounds on either of them. Did this behavior begin before or after dosing CP plus General Cure?
