As the title states I haven’t seen any nutrient spike in my nitrate of phosphates. The fluc has been in the tank for about 2 weeks and there’s been a lot of algae die off too. Not sure what’s going. Any thoughts

Nitrates:0
Phos: 0.4

Phosphates of 0.4 pretty high. Do you mean 0.04?

But I also didn't see a nitrate spike when I went through this recently. I had a good bit of turf algae that I think probably consumed the nitrate and wasn't killed by the fluconazole.

Oh yes I meant 0.04. And I have a bit of turf algae but it’s mainly GHA so I was kinda expecting some nitrate instead of 0. And would’ve thought my phosphate would’ve spiked as well.

Not sure if I should dose some nitrate to bring it up and avoid the potential of Dino’s

What nitrate test kit are you using? Is it one that can accurately read low values? And as long as there is some algae, I don't think it is unreasonable to see very low nitrates. Do you have a refugium or anything?

Im using the Hanna High Range Nitrate tester and its been reading 0. Dont have a refugium and not doing any carbon dosing or nopox.

Just afraid i might get a resurgence of Dinos after beating them due to zero nitrate.

Should i dose nitrate until i can see a reading? or just leave it.

You’re not going to hurt anything dosing it up if it’s that low. I try to keep mine between 1 and 2.
