Yes the clear silicon tubing is different from the opaque tubing. I recently had an issue with mine on the small bit of tubing between the metal sample needle in bottle A and the 90deg fitting. Alk measurements were all over the place. I took the cover off and watched what was happening and there were air bubbles in the line as it was adding A to the vial.. sometimes... I bought some 1.5mm ID silicon tube and replaced that small bit of tubing inside the bottle and no more air bubbles. I suspect the tubing that comes with the unit is getting old and the seal around those little barb fittings is not as good as it used to be.

I recently had this error as well. Ended up being a clog in the manifold area. I used a titration syring from a salifert mag test kit to push RO water through the lines.

Massive props to Apex for the engineering of this thing.

The limits of my mechanical aptitude and fine motor skills are tested just connecting the USB cable.

Even I was able to disassemble this thing, fox the clog, and put it back together. I can’t believe it.

In my case the error occurred after cleaning the test cuvette. If you see that water enters the cuvette when priming. But you get the error, it can also be that the board with the optical sensor has moved. In my case it has moved very little but enough so that the sensor could not point properly to the test cuvette. In that case the trident fills with water, but the sensor does not pick it up and gives the "No sample water" error. By repositioning the electronic board with the sensor the problem is solved. If the trident suffers a blow or if you transport it, it could also happen. The brackets that hold the two boards with the sensor on each side of the test cuvette are very weak and the board/sensor is easily detached from its position.

As for those that have been clogged, Neptune Systems is shipping the Trident at least in 2024 with an inlet filter that is placed at the inlet of the tube that collects the sample. I have it in my intake and so far it has never clogged.
