We are finally done with drywall and the backsplash. Just a few minor touch ups with paint and silicone and we are plumbing tomorrow. Producing water and rock/sand going in tomorrow night!! Then hanging lights and controllers etc while the tank starts it’s cycle.

Thanks Clayton!! You can't go wrong with Radion/T5 combo. I've had just about every major light and really seem to see the very best results with this combo. However, if I had the space and overheating wasn't a possible scenario i'd add metal halides for a couple hours/day for peak daylight.

That combo of t5s and radion might be best ever, my suggestion is start with diffusers on raidions and something like Giesman true atentic , and ati purple plus, May be try and push the weak low nm. With t5s and use radion to trim, understanding they will be weak on low nm wavelength, bigger tank might need more supletation of sub 420nm , I feel you can't have enough, on big tank like that..

Thanks Kenneth! We'll certainly see how the lights look without the diffusers this week... with the depth I have on this tank i'd like to be able to maximize the par and not have to go with the diffusers. But time will tell for sure.

Thanks Dr.

No dimmable T5’s. I’ve never used them. Don’t really see any benefit or value to them either.

Update, water is filling the system as of last night.
