So, I've had multiple tanks...but they all had overflows already plumbed in them. I know basically what I'm trying to set up (I think), but I need some help on knowing what pieces I'm going to need. :oops:o_O I have my bulk heads already, so it's just figuring out what else I'll need to get the water down the overflow.

Gravity! :p

Which sections are you trying to plumb in? Are you trying to set up Durso, Herbies, or Bean animals?

It's a corner overflow, so I'm just gonna run a standard durso.

I suggest taking the top part of the durso and put on a maghie muffler. Very simple and take 80% -90℅ of the gurgling noise.

Cool. Do I need to buy one as a kit, or should I just pick up the pieces at HD?

If you have 1" bulkheads I would get a 1" to 1 1/4" adapter. Then a 1 1/2" pipe up to a 90deg elbow, slip fitting, and another 90deg elbow pointing down. Drill a hole in the top and you are good to go.

Or, you can go with a 1 1/2" pipe to a "T" fitting. Put a cap on the top of the T fitting. Use a slip fitting and 90deg elbow down from the side of the T. Drill a hole in the cap.

Not really sure why it is recommended to go to a slightly larger pipe than the bulkhead size but that seems to be the most common way to do it.

So starting from the bulkhead at the bottom you would need;
1- 1"slip or thread x 1 1/4" reducer
1- length of 1 1/4" pvc pipe
1- 1 1/4"X1 1/4"x 1 1/4" T
1- 90 street elbow(the street elbow makes the durso more compact)
1- 1 1/4" cap

have you looked in to the magi muffler? They are really quiet. I'll be running one on mine
I'm planning to go that route. seems like the easiest way to do it too.
