Now past 48 hrs with new 40 gal cube AIO running. Have turned on protein skimmer and it is running wet-filling cup up. Have dumped half full cups 5 times in 8 hrs. It is placed on partition between media box chamber and skimmer chamber. There doesn't appear to be anymore play in adjusting the height. Is this normal- will it break in to more normal function? Should I turn it off overnight to prevent over spillage?

If you give some details on the skimmer (brand/model) and maybe a pic of it setup we might be able to have some ideas. I would definitely turn it off overnight if it filling that fast.

Usually a new skimmer requires break in period. Some will break in a lot coaster than others.

I am a new noob reefer- the cap on the airline is a solid red sealed cap- no visible way of turning it to adjust or removing it as far as I can tell. But it is 1AM, maybe I'm seeing it a bit cross-eyed lol
