New to the saltwater hobby. Live in the Eugene, Oregon area. Former scuba diver, which really triggered my fascination with marine life. I’ve been researching on this forum for a while now and have finally decided to sign up and post:)

I say new, but tried this several years back And wasn’t prepared to research the needs and demands of maintaining a healthy tank. Paid attention to ammonia, nitrates and nitrites and that was about it. Ended up with a hairy green tank and aborted.

This time, I’ve spent the last year researching and preparing. I finally have my tank set up and am preparing for “The Package” from Tampa Bay Saltwater.

My build so far:

My build so far:

Tank: Wat180.5

Pump: Vectra M2

Wave pumps: 2x MP40wQD

ATO: XP Aqua Ultimate

Lighting: 3x Hydra 32HD

Filter Sock: Waterbox

Protein Skimmer: Reef Octopus Regal 200SSS

Heater: Finned TH-0800 800 watt and HC-0810M Controller

RO/DI: BRF 7 Stage Kit, with Maxi-Jet Powerhead 1200

Neptune Apex, Trident, DOS, DDR

Reactor: BRS GFO and Carbon

Now trying to figure out the saltwater mixing station. Any comments on missing or improved equipment are appreciated.

Welcome to R2R! setup looking good. can't wait to see it run

P.S. within the first year of the tank "Break in" don't be discouraged if your tanks becomes a green mess, or a brown mess, or wine red mess. or it might just run smooth for 10 years (less likely scenario). just part of the hobby. Enjoy the journey
