How does everyone feel about the NooPsyche K7 PRO III and the A8 Pro Lights?

I Have 6 noopsyche k7s . 5 of the older Gen noopsyche 3x v2 pros and 2x v3 both with handheld controllers and one v3 pro. I like the lights a lot and always recommend them.

The app is crappy but I get my lights set and leave them alone generally. I replaced radion g4 xr30 pros with the v3 noopsyche and will never look back.

Eventually I will purchase 4 more of the v3 pros to go over my 210 and play musical lights with the rest of my tanks.

i have no experience with the A8 Pros

I use one K7 on my IM 40 gal cube tank. It’s my first real SW tank so I can’t compare with other lights. I am now used to the klutzy app and I don’t change it much, so that’s fine. It was a bit of a pain at first though. The quality of the light is good in my opinion. I probably run more white than some people as I’m used to more of a daylight look due to my FW planted background. The cooling fan is fairly quiet, though it is audible. It puts out plenty of PAR as read on my Amazon PAR meter. It’s 140w I believe. It cost under $300, which is far cheaper than most reef lights, so that’s a big plus. I hope more experienced reefers weigh in, though I suspect that crowd is using fancier lights.

No experience with the A8. I ran six k7 III pros over this 72x24x24" tank. With the two close together on the left I was able to get 300 par in the bottom where my derasa was.

They worked well enough I moved them to the new tank. 84x30x25"

The app isn't the greatest but does work and once set up it's not like I'm making a lot of changes so I'm not really complaining.

I have experience with both and I'd vote for the a8se but had great experiences and was happy with both. If you're paying the price of the Pro, there are other fixtures I'd recommend. The value of the SE is what makes it my choice.

what lights would you recommend over the A8Pro? I'm looking for something to put on my 32G cube. I have a PopBloom RL90 and it's fine but looking at something that we can be "wider" so won't have as much shadowing. Was thinking two 50w lights or the A8 because I believe they put a wider spread.

Gotcha, I’ll have to dig for more user feedback on the SE compared to the pro. I know it’s different LED’s and hardware but haven’t found any good reviews on performance or functionality differences.

I'm looking at a NooPsyche K7 PRO III for my Waterbox 35.2, but one of the reasons I haven't been able to get my current AI Prime light working properly because the app was always either disconnecting or spinning endlessly when trying to access the light. So, the app complaints on the NooPsyche worry me unless I am not required to use it.

Also, does anyone have the hanging kit for the NooPsyche and can show me how that looks? I need to suspend mine if I get it and I can't seem to find any images of that assembled and hanging.
