Set the lights up with QR code. Any suggestions for more pop? Color is good and torches gaining some yellow on tentacles within two days. I probably need to switch the light blue and deep blue around. And touch up the curve. Was in a rush yesterday. Also the blending is horrible, disco effect is really bad. I assume diffuser is needed.

Gonna bump this for you. Popular light so I am sure you'll get a response.

Thanks for the bump.

Currently at this as I acclimate corals slowly. About to bump cyan up. 29 inches to sand and 11 to waterline. I really need to just go out and rent a par meter.

Hi, I have the same light on a Evo 13.5. I would recommend the hood and diffuser. I've provided my schedule, if it's any help.

I have a period between 15:00 and 18:00 when the tank is in daylight mode so our clowns look more natural.

I was terrible for fiddling around with the light when I first got it, and then realising that wasn't a good idea, I set the lights and left it alone for a month. You mentioned you're using the QR codes, so you've probably got this covered, but I've left the link to bqeananimal's excellent tool just in case.

I feel I’m an outlier here - all channels equal (a couple outliers due to tweaking the dial that I didn’t bother to correct) with a couple hours in the evening with low but heavy blues for the black light effects.

I let the diode balance to the weighting - there’s something like 1/8 the red and green diodes as blues so even at equal power they make up a small portion of the output spectrum.

That's interesting @PotatoPig. I suppose if you're still running a FOWLR tank you have no need for the heavy blues we're using for or corals. I was paranoid about encouraging algae growth so ran no regs or greens at all for the first month.

Did you have algae problems?

Mixed reef - 34 species of Softies, LPS, SPS, and an Nem all going fine.

No algae issues other than coraline that needs to be periodically cleaned off the power heads, and some coralline on the glass near the hammer I need to remove.

Ha, you're not kidding on the Coraline algae.

Your tank looks lovely, btw.
Is this the Coraline you mentioned? I have something similar but it's green and needs a razor blade to get off

Thanks all. I’ll look in the diffuser as I can see individual lights esp between blues/uv/white as lines on the sand. Will keep slowly bumping up and extending peak duration. Anyone have any torches that have gold tentacle streaks? Know heavy blues brings them up. Still not really showing as much as they did before. Was running viparspectra’s before at 40 blue 5 white. But thinking I’m not hitting them with enough par yet.

Adjusted to above schedule and much more pop and eye pleasing. Will run this for a bit and bump up intensity equally if corals seek more demand. Only have one not demanding sps coral and another on the way. Will still grab a par meter from LFS this weekend just to see where I stand par wise.

I have 6 over my 84x30x25" tank. I brought them over from a 6ft 180g.
I don't really notice a disco affect but it could be the lack of much white in the tank that would show it.

Can you post your QR code. I have been happy with my settings for a long time but always looking for something different. Also does your 84” tank have cross bracing. I have 6 over my 96” but running them perpendicular as I have two glass cross braces.

I wasn't using the QR generator back then. I have this one that I'm running now but am not sure how much different it is because I'm poor at keeping track of things.

qr-.jpg

I think it may have more whites.
This is a recent shot but it could be a different time of day.
